Easter in the NW

Since we don't have any family nearby, Nik and I woke up Easter morning having no idea what we would do for the day. We decided we needed to head West to the beach with the dogs. Cannon Beach was our destination and it proved to be a wonderful decision. The dogs had a blast swimming in the water, chasing Nik around and ME loved eating the sand. It was a beautiful day and a perfect way to spend the day with our family. After the dogs playtime we walked the town for a bit, had a slice of pizza and made sure to grab some local fresh taffy for the ride home. It was sunny, warm and gorgeous out. Something we both have been craving for sometime.

Nik's cousins' in-laws live in Portland and they invited us over for an Easter dinner. After we got back from the beach we went to their house and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of ham and all the fixings. The dogs played in the yard, we watched the end of the Master's Golf and we took in the last little bit of sunshine we could get.

It ended up being a great day!

Wedding Photos

We finally have them. Our photographer did a wonderful job!! We love our pictures and we hope that you like them too.

We just want to thank our parents for all they contributed to our perfect day. We couldn't have done it without you. We love you!

Spring Training in Phoenix

Nik and I were hoping to get out of the bad weather by going down to Phoenix to visit family and to watch some Spring Training baseball. We got to see the LaDukes and my Dad which was so much fun and we got to go to Spring Training, but the weather wasn't quite what we were hoping for. It rained and the high was about 65. Hey... it was still better than the weather in Portland so we were still happy.

We had so much fun spending time with our nieces, Callie and Avery, and our nephew Liam. We played with dolls, had a music recital and we even went to the aquarium. Addie was a wonderful host. She made us dinner almost every night and she shuffled us around town. Dad was great hanging out with us along the way. Nik and he got to go golfing on Monday and we managed to fit in 2 Spring Training games along the way (Rockies vx Dodgers and Giants vs Diamondbacks). Nik and I also got to spend a lunch with his cousin Sara and her daughter Mattie at PF Changs. Sara's husband runs the restaurant, so he joined in whenever he could.

It was an awesome weekend. Nik and I were so happy to spend some quality time with our family. We loved every minute of it.

Girl's Night Out and Enjoying the Sun

Some girlfriends and I got together over the weekend and enjoyed a swanky night out at Departure (a Portland hotspot). It is located on top of the Macy's building and the hotel The Nines. We enjoyed a wonderful asian fusion dinner and some delicious Champagne. Luckily, it was a beautiful night out, so we got to see some of the great views of the city.

The next day was gorgeous. Nik and I have been feeling the weather blues a little lately, so it was so nice to have great weather on the only day we have off together. We took the dogs to the dog park and let them play and play. Then we headed to a friends house for a BBQ and more dog play time. The dogs are still tired;-)

Happy Late Valentines

Nik was so sweet to surprise me with a lunch at home on Valentines. He got me some starters for our garden, some flowers for the house and mini peanut butter cups (my favorite). I made him a nice dinner of chicken piccata. We told each other not to do anything, because we feel we should celebrate each other everyday. Of course, we did, but kept it simple.

This weekend we were able to plant our new plants. All seasonal to this time of year, so hopefully they survive. Lettuce, oregano, rosemary, chives and sweet peas. We will keep you updated with the progress.

Thank you Nik for being the best hubby ever. I love you!
