3 Months Old

McKinley is not a newborn any more. She is officially a baby now and she is showing us everyday her determination to get stronger and grow up. I can't believe how fast it is going. At this point she is trying to sit up. Not quite there, but she is trying hard to do it in her carseat and anything that has a small incline. Her tummy time has gotten much better, she is now able to rest on her elbows. She loves her hands and has grabbed at her feet a few times. We think she is teething already, because she is drooling a lot and constantly bites on her hands. She is sleeping through most of the night, just waking up once most nights for feeding. Her laugh is getting more pronounced and she smiles and giggles at mommy and daddy all the time. It melts my heart every time. She loves to stand on her feet. She has very strong legs and with little support she stands up.

Each month our photo shoot is becoming harder and harder. She is moving so much, it is hard to get her still. So, not the best pictures of her, but still very cute. Enjoy!!

Trip to Portland

McKinley took her first flight over the weekend to go with us up to Portland. Nik and I wanted to introduce her to all of our Portland friends and I wanted to say a proper goodbye to my team at Patagonia. I must say I was pretty nervous about the flight, I had no idea what to expect with McKinley. For the most part she did very well, it was the decent that got her upset. She was obviously having ear trouble and she wailed for a few minutes. The people around us were all very kind about it, but I think they were surprised how loud she actually got.

Here it comes
We had a blast spending time with our friends. Wanda and Andrew were so kind to let us stay with them for the first 2 nights, then we stayed at our old stomping ground, the Asa, the last night. We got to go to some of our favorite restaurants, I shopped a little bit, got a manicure and pedicure and Nik went golfing.

We had a lot of fun, but we were ready to come home. Our flight left at 6am on Tuesday and McKinley did awesome on the flight. She slept the entire time (take off and landing). The bad part was she was grumpy and fussy the rest of the day, because we had to get her up at 4am. Yikes!!

Success on the landing

Farewell for now

Well, the time has come to say goodbye to Patagonia... for now. Since Nik has accepted a full-time job in Reno working as the Marketing Manager for Guild Mortgage it is clearly impossible for me to be back in Portland to manage the Patagonia store. I had to put in my notice with the company that I have so much enjoyed working for. The Patagonia Service Center is in Reno, so there is potential to be rehired. I just have to be patient for the right position to open up. For now, I will enjoy being Mommy!!

On the flip side, Nik is working for my old roommate and great friend, Shayla Gifford, at Guild Mortgage. He is the Marketing Manager for the branch she owns here in Reno. It is a great job for him, because it is very social and fast paced.

We look forward to making Reno our home again and we love having family near by.

49er's Newest Fan

Although the outcome of the game wasn't what we all wanted, we did recruit a new fan to the bunch. She couldn't take her eyes off the game and she didn't nap all afternoon because of it. She did get a little scared once or twice from the other fans in the room screaming and shouting at the happenings on the TV.

Daddy and Kinley zoned in on the TV
Thanks Keri and Sam for hosting the great party. We had a wonderful time. Hopefully next year we have something to celebrate afterwards.
