Happy Anniversary!!

Wow, a year has flown by and Nik and I have gone through some major life changing events. It has been a wonderful year and I know we will have a lifetime more of these to come. Happy Anniversary Nik!! I love you so very much and I am so thankful to have you as my husband, my best friend and the father of our beautiful daughter. It has been quite a dance and here's to many more!

Here's some of my favorite photos from the year.

2 month doctors visit

Two month doctors visit means first round of vaccination shots, so I was not looking forward to this visit. The doctor checked her out and said she was "Perfect." I would have to agree! She has gained 4 lbs. and grown 4 inches since she was born, so she is one healthy baby. Then, came the shots. The nurse gave her the shots so quick by the time McKinley realized the pain and started to scream the nurse was out of the room. They have this stuff down perfect where they leave so the parents get to deal with the screaming baby. McKinley actually took it really well. She cried for a few minutes but then settled down. She did however sleep the rest of the day while she had a mild fever (which is normal after shots).

Idaho a go go

Gigi, Nik, McKinley and I decided to make the haul to Idaho for the long weekend. This was McKinley's first long road trip (8 hours) so we were all wondering how she would do. On the way there she did fantastic. All except the last 30 minutes, she was ready to move and get out of the car. When we arrived Uncle Zach had prepared a delicious meal of short ribs. It made the entire drive worth it.

On Saturday, the boys went touring and skiing, the girls went nordic skiing and Gigi babysat the kiddos. Sarah is 5 months pregnant and she showed me up on the skate skis. She is in great shape and it's motivating to see her exercising through pregnancy like that. Afterwards, we all met at Galena Lodge for a yummy lunch and spent time soaking up the sun.

On Sunday, the boys went touring and skiing again while the girls took Dax to Dollar Hill to practice his ski skills. Pretty impressive an 18 month old is skiing already. He lasted about 3 runs, then enjoyed the hot chocolate in the lodge. We all had to be back to Nick and Jean Latham's (Zach's parents) by 1:00 because the 49ers were playing for the NFC West Championship. Gigi made a delicious chili and we all sat around rooting the 49ers and Kaepernick on. We were even doing the wave at some points to impress Dax and get him excited. Yay, they won!!! Super Bowl here we come!!!

Our side entertainment for the game. The adult toy! We road this thing around the Latham's. It was so fun!

It was a quick weekend and a long drive, but it was all worth it. We had a blast!! Thanks Aunt Sarah and Uncle Zach for entertaining us. Also, a huge thank you to Nick and Jean for letting the Kosach family stay with you. It was a perfect setup.

Nik has great photos from the skiing they did over the weekend. Hopefully he will do an update with them.

2 Months Old

I am growing everyday. Smiles are easy to come by nowadays (except for the photo shoot) and I have even laughed a few times. No belly laughs yet, but definite chuckles are becoming more of a daily ritual. This morning was the first morning I actually noticed those things called feet at the other end of my body. I stared at them while I wiggled my toes for a very long time. I can hold my head up very well now. Tummy time has become quite a fun event because I get to show off my strength. I am getting so strong I can waive my arms and legs all at the same time. My hair is out of control. Not quite long enough to do anything with yet, but I get comments all of the time like, "WOW, look at the hair!" I am really good at making a double chin and I stare at things that interest me a lot. Things like: the tv (mom tries to avoid that), pictures, peoples faces and myself in the mirror.

It's already 2 months. Time is flying and our beautiful little girl is growing up right before our eyes. She will have grown out of her 3 month old clothing by the time she gets there and she has already traveled to 3 states. We love every moment with her and fall deeper in love with her everyday.
