Our New Loft

Our patio
As most of you might know, Nik and I moved again. This time we stayed within our building, we just moved to one of the highly sought after lofts. Nik and I made the move a week before our engagement party. I finally hung the pictures, so now I feel it is appropriate to show off our new place. There is a little more square footage than the apartment we had on the 14th floor. We now have an office (no pictures yet, because it is still a mess) and our bedroom is upstairs. We also have a front patio that sits on the garden terrace within the building. We did lose our spectacular view of the mountains, but we have a great view of the city.

This place really feels like home. I find myself wanting to cook more and I have even been thinking of painting again. We are glad to be staying here for quite some time.

Engagement Party

Even though Nik and I have been engaged for almost a year we felt it was time to really announce ourselves as the soon to be Mr and Mrs Nikolas Kosach. We invited all of our close friends from Portland and fortunately some of our family was able to join as well.

The Sky Lounge in our building was the location. It is a large party room on the top floor of the building, with a huge patio and a BBQ. The view is spectacular and the weather was luckily perfect. With about 25 guests we served salad and appetizers from Elephants Delicatessen, my mom made an appetizers and the flower arrangements, Nik cooked his famous and amazing tri-tip, Steve and Gail supplied the beverages and our friend Haley made an awesome carrot cake for dessert. Sarah gave a nice speech and Nik said a few words as well. It was a perfect party to officially kick off a new chapter.

The rest of the weekend we had Nik's parents, Steve and Gail, in town along with my mom and my sister Sarah and her 5 month old son, Dax. Steve and Gail stayed in a 4th floor loft right down the way from us and my family stayed with us. Even though it was crammed we still made sure to enjoy each other and have a good time. We shopped, we walked, we ate and we watched the swift birds fly into the chimney. These are the same birds Nik and I watched last year at the school near by.

I was sad to see everyone go at the end of the weekend. I love having family nearby and it was great getting to spend time with everyone.

Keri and Sam's Wedding

It was another whirlwind weekend down to Lake Tahoe for Keri, Nik's sister, and Sam's wedding. The event was spectacular. The Bride and Groom were glowing, the location was gorgeous, the food was fantastic and the dancing was the best. We couldn't have had a better time. There are so many wonderful pictures, I will let them tell the story of the weekend.

Keri did a wonderful job pulling this wedding together. The weather threatened the ceremony, but it ended up staying dry and made for a wonderful sunset. I am so happy for the newlyweds. It was an incredible day. Congratulations Keri and Sam, Nik and I are so happy and excited for you both.

Boating on the Willamette

The Moomba
Our good friends, John and Haley, recently purchased a new boat and they invited us to be the first to test it out. It was also Haley's birthday this weekend so we made sure to celebrate out on the river. We spent the day floating, tubing and lying in the sun. It was gorgeous weather and it was very cool to see downtown Portland from a different view. We also thought it was pretty incredible our house was walking distance to where we were on the water.

Haley and Nik were the only two to tube. She was the marathon tuber, holding on for dear life while John tried to knock her off. There were a lot of boats out, so we had to be very careful when one of us was in the water. These Portlanders love their sunny days, so on days like this everyone was out and about.
