Engagement Party

Even though Nik and I have been engaged for almost a year we felt it was time to really announce ourselves as the soon to be Mr and Mrs Nikolas Kosach. We invited all of our close friends from Portland and fortunately some of our family was able to join as well.

The Sky Lounge in our building was the location. It is a large party room on the top floor of the building, with a huge patio and a BBQ. The view is spectacular and the weather was luckily perfect. With about 25 guests we served salad and appetizers from Elephants Delicatessen, my mom made an appetizers and the flower arrangements, Nik cooked his famous and amazing tri-tip, Steve and Gail supplied the beverages and our friend Haley made an awesome carrot cake for dessert. Sarah gave a nice speech and Nik said a few words as well. It was a perfect party to officially kick off a new chapter.

The rest of the weekend we had Nik's parents, Steve and Gail, in town along with my mom and my sister Sarah and her 5 month old son, Dax. Steve and Gail stayed in a 4th floor loft right down the way from us and my family stayed with us. Even though it was crammed we still made sure to enjoy each other and have a good time. We shopped, we walked, we ate and we watched the swift birds fly into the chimney. These are the same birds Nik and I watched last year at the school near by.

I was sad to see everyone go at the end of the weekend. I love having family nearby and it was great getting to spend time with everyone.
