Welcome Olympia Winn Kosach

Wow, it has been a year since I last updated my blog. Life has suddenly become very busy and I have found it very difficult to keep this up to date. Since last May a lot has happened, so much so that I can't even remember what except that we got pregnant again and recently had our 2nd baby girl.

Olympia Winn Kosach was born on March 31, 2015 at 8:24 PM. She was 9.9 lbs and a whopping 22.5 inches long. Yes, she was a very BIG girl. Luckily, I was able to do an all natural childbirth again without any complications or medication. And, even though she was almost a pound bigger than McKinley, she was much easier to labor through. I had a 7.5 hr labor instead of the 20 hr labor I had with McKinley. I really contribute it to having been there before and being able to put my mind in the zone (if you know what I mean).

McKinley didn't get to go to the hospital to meet her little sis, because she had pick eye and needed to stay away for a couple days. Thank you Gigi, Grampy, Baba and Djedo for taking care of our oldest. The above photos were the first time she met Olympia.

That weekend was Easter, and the Latham's were in town so we did all the expected Easter stuff. Hunts, eating and hanging out in the great weather.

When Oly (her nickname) was only 2 weeks old, she came down with a temperature. We were pretty sure she got it from her older sister but since she was so young we needed to take her into emergency. She ended up staying in the hospital for 4 nights, because they had to monitor her and make sure she didn't get any worse. It felt like forever and was pretty scary. The highest temp she got was 102.3 in the hospital but they were able to administer Tylenol to help keep the temps down. Since they weren't sure if she had a bacterial infection they did all the precautionary tests and lab work. She had a spinal tap, blood work, urine sample, and every other liquid they could culture from her body. Luckily, none of the cultures turned out positive so they concluded she really did just get what McKinley had.

McKinley is definitely going through transition with her younger sis. She is not too sure about her yet and is in the terrible twos so we have been keeping her busy in gymnastics and now swim lessons.

Olympia is already 1 month old and growing like a weed. She does look a lot like her big sis, but we can already tell her personality is much different. She is calm and quiet and does not fuss about too much at all. She didn't even cry when she was born, she just laid on my belly looking up at me.

Welcome to our crazy and fun family Oly, we are in love with you and so happy you got to join us in this wonderful life.
