Moving Time

Time to move. House is completed. We recruited Gigi and some of Nik's friends (David and Josh) and made the move over the weekend of the 20th. Car load after car load and Uhaul after Uhaul we slowly moved all of our stuff to the new house. It has been over a week now that we are in the house and it all feels just right. It is perfect for us and we absolutely love it!  I will post pictures of the house organized, but for now this is what it looked like before we moved in.

5 Months Old

With everything going on (see the upcoming posts) mommy was a little late to take my 5 month picture this month. Regardless I am as cute as ever and I keep growing and changing everyday. This month I have gotten so much better at my rolling. Although sometimes I get stuck on my belly and cry until someone turns me over. My cry can still stop an entire crowd, but luckily I am mostly happy. I have started to dabble in a couple foods, sweet potatoes and rice cereal to be exact. I can sit up by myself for a short period of time and I love to prop myself up with my arms while I am on my belly. My hair is growing longer everyday, but it is also getting lighter and thinning out a bit. I love to chew on my feet and really, I love to chew on anything. I am definitely teething, because I drool all of the time and I can get really fussy because of the pain. I love to laugh at the doggies and daddy too. He is funny! I smile all of the time, but when the camera is around I like to give it a blank stare.

McKinley meets Nana

Recently we found out Nana was moving to Salt Lake City so I decided to make a quick trip to Los Altos so Kins could meet her great grandma. We were going to go later in April, but when we found out she was moving so quickly we had to make the trip right away. Nik had to stay home and work, so Gigi volunteered to go. I'm sure glad she did because it would have been a difficult trip without a copilot to entertain McKinley. We left midday Tuesday and got to Los Altos just in time for dinner. Nana was craving a hamburger, so we made sure to bring her my favorite, In and Out. She was leaving early Wednesday morning for Salt Lake so we stayed just long enough to have dinner, pick oranges and lemons and spend some quality time with Nana. It was so great to see Nana. She always looks fantastic and I'm so glad Kins was able to meet her. Hopefully we can make a trip out to visit her this summer.

We will miss having you so close, Nana. We love you so much and hope that the move went well.

McKinley didn't just see her Nana while we were in the bay, she got to see her great Baba as well. Baba let us stay the night with her in Lafayette so we got to spend a little bit of time with her. The next morning it was time to head home, so back on the road we went. Thank you Baba for letting us stay with you.

Our New Home

Nik and I are building a home and it should be done in just a few weeks. It is crazy how fast it is going up. We are so excited to be in a place that is actually ours and we will have room to grow. It is a 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 story home. It has a nice open concept in the family/kitchen/dining area and we have wonderful views from our backyard. Below are the progressive photos of the house being built.

Happy Birthday Mom and Happy Easter

Happy Birthday MOM!! It was a wonderful evening of dinner with the family at Old Granite Street Eatery, then off to bowling to finish the night. It was so much fun to spend time with you and the rest of the clan.

Easter was great as well. Nik, Ali and Mariah got up early to hit the slopes at Mt. Rose and Kins and I  headed to Mom and Ben's to help with the brunch. We enjoyed a fantastic feast of ham, egg casserole, and many other yummy sides. Later that evening, Nik, Kins and I headed to Gail and Steve's for another great meal of lamb, potatoes and Keri's delicious cupcakes. Oh boy, was I full from all the eating. McKinley didn't get to partake in any of the Easter activities (she's too little), but she sure did enjoy spending time with 3 of her aunts, her uncle, Gigi, Grumpy, Baba and Djedo. Thank you everyone for the delicious meals.

4 Months Old

Today, I am 4 months old. I weigh 14.2 lbs and I am just over 2 feet tall (25 inches). This past month has been a big month for me. I can now roll over from front to back and back to front. I am actually loving tummy time now, because I can do those things they call baby pushups (holding myself up in cobra position). I have belly laughed a few times, but only do those on special occasion. I think Mommy and Daddy like those the best, so I use my belly laugh sparingly (I don't want anyone getting sick of my cute laugh). I am able to reach for my toys to play with them and I have now discovered the other creatures that live with us. They are furry and funny looking, but I like them a lot. They make me smile and I reach out to them now as well. I have found my feet and I try to put them in my mouth, especially when Mommy is changing my diaper. I still wake up once a night (sometimes more), because I need to make sure Mommy and Daddy haven't forgotten about me. I have been to a total of 5 states and I have traveled by plane over the Pacific Ocean. I am one lucky baby and I am loving this life.

She Rolls and Swims

Hawaii definitely agreed with McKinley. She flourished in the great weather and sunshine. First off... she is now rolling. She started with a front to back roll, then the next day she did a back to front roll. She pulls those little legs up to her chest and rolls to the side, it is too cute. The video wouldn't upload so I added some other great photos instead.

The flower clips Baba gave Kins are super cute!
We tried the ocean one more time. She still didn't like it. Although she loves the sound, it puts her right to sleep.
We also attempted again to bring her in the pool. This time was a success. She didn't cry and loved being pulled around the pool.

Yay!! I did it!!
